Invisalign

Invisalign straightens your teeth by using clear removable aligners. Through constant pressure from the aligners, the bones soften up and teeth straighten into place. Patients must be compliant in wearing their aligners for twenty two hours a day. We realize it is a long and arduous process, but only want the best for our patients.
If patients do not comply with the Invisalign standards, we will see a lapse in their movement. These lapses will slow down their progress.
-
We see some dentists just hand the patient all their alignment trays and leave them alone with minimal checkups in between trays. This results in staying on the same alignment tray longer, or in some cases results in creating a new set of trays.
-
Having to remake patient’s trays is what we call “refinement”, some dentists charge exorbitant fees for lapses and refinement. Essentially lapses require more frequent office visits, or “chair time”. With this added chair time, new impressions must be made for new trays. All of these additional charges add up for the patient.
-
We don’t do this. Dr. Lee schedules frequent office visits to prevent lapses. She will be with the patient at every step of the process, making sure each tray has done its job. We hold onto our patient’s trays for a number of reasons:
-
We don’t want patients losing trays. New trays cost time and money for both parties.
-
Having patients come into our offices ensures that the patient’s teeth are moving correctly.
